2026 Graduate Trainee Program

Program Overview:

Shanghai Commercial Bank's Graduate Trainee ("GT") Program is a structured 18-month program, aiming at equipping university graduates with industry / job knowledge as well as practical skills to pave the way for a successful career in the banking industry.

In addition to comprehensive trainings, you will have job attachments at key business / functional areas in the stream which you have chosen to gain in-depth understanding of its operations. You may also be given an opportunity to gain cross-border exposure at our Mainland and Overseas branches. Participation in corporate local / cross-border events, departmental / cross-functional projects and community services will enable you to brush up your leadership and project management skills while building network within and outside the Bank.

You will be assigned a mentor, who are our experienced executive, to support you along your learning journey by offering coaching and providing performance feedback as well as guidance for your personal and career growth on an on-going basis. To facilitate your professional development, education subsidies will also be provided assisting you in gaining professional qualifications.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following attributes and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or above, with no more than 2 years of work experience
Self-motivated, passionate and a strong drive for excellence
Sharp business acumen, strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills
Good team player with demonstrated leadership potential
Detail-oriented with strong risk control and compliance sense
Possess innovative mindset and good digital sense
Proficiency in English and Cantonese with fluency in Mandarin
